HK: Reeling it in

While many of my friends toured Europe....

I decided to take the unconventional route....

And took on HongKong and Canada instead :)

And yes, to everyone who's asking me repeatedly,
I enjoyed myself tremendously :)

And like every other trip that I go on,
I learned much, and I grew up a lil more.

Seeing the difference in the way people live, and the way they interact, and the heritage they were brought up with, makes looking at life a changed perspective.

At least, in my eyes, it did.

I've much to write, since I DID disappear for a month, but think reading thru my daily itinerary can get boring after a while.

So I decided, just the highlights will do :)

(at least better than the two previous trips where I DIDN'T write anything coz I was too *cough cough* lazy *cough cough* busy to write :P)

Hongkong first la, ok? :P

So what does the shopaholic do in Hongkong?
:P

Lets just say that I think the people in the Esprit outlets can recognize me already :P
And that they're ready to give me their VIP card.
Haha :P

It's my second time in HongKong, and there's nothing much to do there besides shop and shop somemore :P

Stayed with my cousin sister and her family, and her place is huge (in HK context ok, not ours) with 6 rooms! And I'm just happy to have my own room :)

To be honest, didn't take much pictures in HK, coz:
1. Was too busy shopping/eating
2. Nothing very interesting to photograph

HK is a very busy place.
And chinese being chinese, everyone's always in a rush.
Seriously.
Small place, chockful with people rushing left and right, you do the math.

And travelling around HK can be a pain, mainly coz I stay far away from the city. Takes about an hour to just get there, and another hour back.
And to those who knows me, will know that I HATE BUS RIDES.
They make me sick, like literally. Bleah.. Yuck yuck :(

Think the only highlight of HK for me was going to Disneyland.
Yes, I ACTUALLY WENT to Disneyland.
(To all whom I've been telling that I would never ever step into Disneyland, can I take back my words now? :P Keke)
And I ACTUALLY enjoyed myself too :)
(Pics will be in a separate post)

Foodwise, HK food's ok la.
Ate a lot of nice seafood, ate even more street food, and things that I never thought I could get to eat :)
And even as I type this, I'm craving for my red bean ice now... Sigh.

That's all, I think.
Not much pics to show, but got a lot of clothes though. Haha.
Guess you can't have everything :P

The minimal pics that I took while I was there:

One of my fav pics taken with Annika, my niece.
She's like super cute ok! Talks English with that HK accent. Haha :P And she's loves to talk! :)
Oh, this was taken during the long car trip around HK. Just fyi, she's the one who wants to take the pic. Haha :P

Yummy food in HK!!
Glutinous balls with mango ice-cream! :)
Made famous by some chinese series. Haha

And I'm always game for everything and anything mango :P

What HK is famous for... Egg tarts! :)

Not that I'm a big fan, but since I'm there, I might as well eat :P Haha

My bird's nest egg tart with ginger juice.
Note that it's in bold because it was REALLY good :P Haha
And ya, those little teeny strips of stuff you see in it is suppose to be bird's nest. Don't know if it's real or not la. Coz didn't taste anything also. But then again, bird's nest memang no taste wan. Haha :P

Sorry no more pics of food coz I was either too lazy to take them/ too busy eating them :P Keke

The compulsory pic.
Taken at the infamous spot whereby "If you go HK ah, sure must take pic there wan!!!"
So I ma take lor... Evidence that I was ACTUALLY in HK :P Haha

Just in case you're wondering, it's at the Arena of Stars, overlooking Hongkong island :) The building directly behind me is suppose to be their World Trade Center or something. I don't know, I didn't go. I was too busy shopping. Haha :P

With Uncle Jeff, cuz, Annika and Aunt Nek at Repulse Bay.
My trip would've been super boring/expensive if it wasn't for them taking me in and about :)
So thanks... For everything :)

That's it. Sorry la, so lil pics :(
But it's not very expensive to go HK, so you can go there and see it for yourself :P Haha

Conclusion?
Not a place that I would like to stay in, mainly because it's predominantly Chinese.
Would go there to shop though :P Keke

Oh, don't worry, got some more pics wan. But they are mainly of Disneyland :P

Next post next post!

:)

Will now leave you with two of my fav pics taken in HK :)

One of glorious sunset....
