Her. Monday 6 October 2008 |

She was 24.

Diagnosed with stage IV cancer,
all she wanted
was to know how it feels like to be engaged,
to feel,
for once,
normal.

She was to be engaged on the 5th, at 8 pm.

She came into the wards,
the day be
fore it was supposed to be,
gasping,
unable to breathe.

She thought she could get a lil better,
go home,
and have the party.

It didn't happen that way.

8 o'clock came.

She never made it to her
own engagement.

She was my sister's age.

She hasn't gotten the chance to see the world yet, and to experience everything that it has to offer.
There are times where I wished the world wasn't so cruel, and that He would give her her last, dying wish.
It pains me, to know, that life, can be, and still is, fragile.

So I am, still humbled, by the fact that medicine still has its limitations.
And silenced, that our days, are never certain.

To the family members, who were all there during her last moments, and to her fiancee, who stood beside her till the very end,
she will see, the engagement ring that you placed on her finger, when she awakes, in heaven.
